RSA partners with Dubai Center for Special Needs

Dubai, 03 November, 2014: RSA, a leading provider of insurance services in the UAE, has donated AED 27,000 to Dubai Center for Special Needs (DCSN) in order to raise awareness for and to contribute to the organisation’s work with children with special needs. The charity drive helped raise AED 13,500 from RSA customers and employees, an amount that was matched by the company.

Launched earlier this year, the ‘Making Things Better, Together’ campaign saw RSA and DCSN join together for this unique initiative. The company’s customers and employees were given a chance to donate to the non-profit’s vital mission by purchasing individual canvas boards. With more than 500 being sponsored, these were gathered and taken to DCSN, where students and teachers, and RSA volunteers painted these boards, which were then put together as a puzzle to form one large painting. As part of the CR initiative, RSA’s advertising agency, OgilvyOne Middle East, also contributed to the cause by conceptualising and developing the visuals for the campaign free of cost.

Commenting on the initiative, Chris Dooley, CEO of RSA Insurance, UAE & Bahrain, said: “At RSA, not only do we strongly believe in ensuring we are responsibly operating our business, but that we are also making a positive difference in our local communities. Given our commitment to this mission, we are extremely proud to have played a part in supporting the important work that is being done by DCSN.

“As we always look to empower our employees to get involved in causes they feel passionate about, this initiative was aimed at giving them the opportunity to engage with these incredible children. I am absolutely thrilled by the overwhelming response we have received and would like to thank all the children, as well as the fantastic teachers, for giving us a chance to work with them and be a part of their lives. We look forward to continuing to build on this partnership in the coming years.”

A non-profit organisation dedicated to providing the highest standards of service in specialised education and therapy, DCSN provides a range of educational and therapy services for its students. In this capacity, it has played a critical role in supporting the academic, physical, social and emotional development of children with special needs from across the country.

Dr. Mahshid Salehi, Director of Dubai Center for Special Needs, said: “On behalf of all the students and staff at DCSN, I would like to thank RSA for partnering with us for this unique, fun-filled campaign. As a non-profit organisation, we rely heavily on the community for support and funding. It is very reassuring to know that there are companies out there who want to help and give to organisations such as ours. RSA's valuable donation will go a long way in ensuring that we continue to support and nurture the development of these children, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with RSA in the future.”
